Almaty, September 23, 2025: The General Meeting of the Association of Central Depositories of Eurasia (AECSD) was held on the margins of the World Forum of Central Depositories (WFC) organized by Kazakhstan's Central Depository.
Members of AECSD discussed the key issues related to the development of the Association, furthering the agenda of an extraordinary general meeting held in Moscow in May 2025.The participants focused on the discussions of the plans for international activities development and strengthening AECSD's positions globally, launch of the nomination process to the first Board of Directors, as well as of preliminary working group results on developing the media policy of the Association.
At the meeting, expert webinars scheduled for November and December 2025 were announced. During these events, AECSD members plan to discuss amendments to the legislations of their countries, operational activities, introduction of new products to the market and other important issues significant for the financial infrastructure’s participants.
The next AECSD’s annual general meeting is scheduled for April 2026 in Istanbul (Turkey) and will be held on the sidelines of the Summit of the Association, hosted by Turkey's Central Depository MKK.
AECSD was established in 2004 and currently unites 16 central depositories from 15 Eurasian countries. The primary goal of AECSD is to provide a platform for exchange of opinions and proposals on improvement of depositary operations, establishment of a unified "depositary space," and integration of the Association members into the worldwide Securities settlement system.
